Max directed Salty Brine’s newest entry in The Living Record Collection – How Strange It Is (The Neutral Milk Hotel Show) – which is now enjoying rave reviews in Edinburgh after a sold-out run at Joe’s Pub in June. Next up: it heads to the Soho Theatre in London. 

PREVIOUSLY

Max devised a new play – In This Economy? – using the gestural language of Soundpainting in collaboration with actors at Vassar’s Powerhouse Theater Training Program in July of 2026

Max was hired as the Area Head of Playwriting at Playwrights Horizons Theater School, an undergraduate drama studio at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.

Max’s play THIS PLACE IS DEFINITELY HAUNTED received a staged reading at Vassar’s Powerhouse Theater in June of 2024. 

Max was in residence with New York Stage and Film, collaborating with Zoe Sarnak and Jennifer Jancuska on Bodies of Work Zoe Sarnak in July of 2024.

Max graduated with his MFA in Dramatic Writing from New York University in May of 2024.
